SEA-CCHange: Coastal communities’ heritage in times of climate change

Ireland

Historic coastal graveyards in County Kerry, Ireland, are highly vulnerable to climate change. Six sites face threats such as coastal erosion, flooding, and structural collapse. Given their complex heritage values, these sites require balanced conservation approaches that consider the needs of local communities, caretakers, and national authorities. This research will explore the impacts of climate change on these graveyards and examine sustainable preservation strategies.
